To follow the agenda set by the Secratery of the ATU-USSUN, Mr Rasoul Firouzi, the first workshop of the ATU-USSUN in the series was organised on the practical topic of surfing the web safely and securely.

The workshop tool place on 14 January 2025 at Google Meet platform. The event’s recorded video is inserted on the ATU-USSUN YouTube Channel and on this page for interested followers.

The workshop was the first in a series of workshops organized by ATU-USSUN, the student network affiliated to Allameh Tabataba’i University (ATU) and the Silk Road Universities Network (SUN). The workshop’s primary focus was on online safety and privacy, providing tips for staying secure on the internet.

In this free online event, the speaker, Rasoul Firouzi, discussed various threats such as phishing, malware, ransomware, and identity theft, and emphasized the importance of using strong passwords, enabling multi-factor authentication, and being cautious of public Wi-Fi. Additionally, he recommended using a reliable VPN application, keeping software updated, and being mindful of personal information shared on social media. The video concluded with a discussion on the importance of data backup and the impact of emerging technologies like deepfakes on online security.
